Greenwheels

Should you not get where you want to go by public transport, there will always be a Greenwheels station near you. Learn more about “Greenwheels – the car for now and then”, the car sharing service offered by Greenwheels GmbH in cooperation with Dresden Transport (DVB AG).

“Sometimes I need a car because I can’t always get where I need to go by public transport.”

Imagine you want to go to IKEA to buy a linen basket… or you’ve been invited to a birthday party out of town. For those times when you can’t get where you want to go by public transport, there’s a Greenwheels bay near you. Greenwheels also has bays at stations, so you can arrive by train and get straight into the car you’ve booked.

“My car often stands unused for days”

Even if you don’t use your car very often, you can’t save much money. Even when you’re not driving it, you still pay the fixed costs (depreciation, tax, insurance, interest payments on loans or financing, garage costs etc.). Price comparisons show that going with Greenwheels can mean savings of up to €2,000 compared to having a private car. Add to that the fact that you won’t have to look after the car yourself any more. Greenwheels ensures that its vehicles are in optimum technical condition, takes them for servicing and, in case of damage, ensures that the necessary repairs are carried out.

And this is how it works...

There is no joining fee if you want to use Greenwheels vehicles. VVO subscription customers are entitled to a 50% reduction on the deposit (€100 instead of €200) and pay a monthly fee which can be fully offset against the vehicle use costs accrued each month. This entitles you to use one of the range of vehicles, from small cars to estates, which are available from one of the many Greenwheels bays. Fuel, insurance, tax and cleaning are all included in the price.

The evening rate is particularly good value: between 8.00 pm and 8.00 am each car costs just €1.00 / hour (+ €0.15 / €0.18 per km).
