Our motto “VVO – just change!” of course also includes the change from your private car to the public transport network.
Park and ride car parks are so-called transition points. They are called transition points because they make it so easy and pleasant to change from one means of transport to another:
- Change from one mode of public transport to another (e.g. bus, tram and train, with coordinated timetables)
- Change from private car to public transport (park and ride)
- Change from bicycle to public transport (bike and ride)
Parking at Park+Ride sites in the VVO area is generally free of charge. There are currently some 2,000 new P+R sites in the network area. 90% of the infrastructural plans have been completed. The corresponding railway stations and transport stops have for the most part also been modernised and equipped with ticket machines and passenger shelters. There are special short-stay "Kiss+Ride" parking spaces reserved for dropping off and picking up passengers.
