Taking your bike along on buses, trams and trains

It is possible to take along your bicycle when you travel with VVO. Here you can find out what to keep in mind when using the various means of transport.

As a general rule, there are only as many bicycles allowed in a vehicle as can be taken along without endangering or inconveniencing the other passengers. The transportation of baby buggies and wheelchairs has priority over the transportation of bicycles.

Bicycles may not be taken onto the Citybus Meißen nor onto the Kirnitzsch Valley Railway.

As a rule, a fare must be paid for the transportation of bicycles in buses, trams and trains (there are some special fares that make up the exceptions to this rule, for example the SuperSommerFerienTicket for students). More detailed information can be found in the rules on tariffs for pets and luggage.

Special rules apply for the River Elbe ferries, funicular railways, the elevator in Bad Schandau and the narrow-gauge railways.

There is also a monthly bicycle pass for the VVO region for those who take their bicycles along regularly. The pass is valid from the day of the initial cancellation up until the same calendar day of the following month. Should the last day on which the pass is valid be a day that does not exist on the calendar, then the validity ends with the last day of the month.

The rules for taking bicycles along on trains are those rules which are laid down by Deutsche Bahn AG.
