River Elbe ferries

In Saxony there are a total of around 30 ferry connections, currently 19 of those are in the VVO region. Along the 52 kilometres of river between Dresden and the Czech border there are 13 ferry crossing, an average of one every four kilometres.

Saxon steam shipping lines

Welcome aboard a fleet that is truly unique in this world. With nine historic paddle steamers that are between 80 and 130 years old, the Saxon Steam Shipping Line has the oldest and largest fleet of paddle steamers in the world.

Steam ferry „Wehlen-Bastei”

There is no more impressive and highly individual way to travel Saxon Switzerland than on the ferry steamer „Wehlen-Bastei” which was built in 1925.

‘Clara von Assisi’

The passenger vessel, the ‘Clara von Assisi’, is based at Niederlommatzsch. Trips on board afford the opportunity to enjoy the picturesque wine-producing villages along the Elbe from a different perspective all year round.

'Stadt Riesa’

The passenger vessel, the ‘Stadt Riesa’, has been operating along the Elbe between Dresden and Torgau since 1996. With room for 120 people on board, a trip on the ‘Stadt Riesa’ makes a great outing and the boat is also available for private hire.

Ferry „Bosel"

A boat trip along the Elbe on the ‘Bosel’ provides a relaxing opportunity to enjoy the picturesque backdrop of the vineyards between Radebeul and Meißen.

Ferry „Lotti“

This small river ferry is moored at the Meißen Marina. The ‘Lotti’ is available for charter trips starting from Meißen, with a capacity of up to 30 people. On-board catering can be provided on request.

ElbeTaxi

A completely new way to see Dresden and its surroundings. Choose one of four trips and enjoy the rush of travelling down the Elbe in a speedboat. Elbe Taxi also offers tours in paddle-powered boats.
