Tobogganing
Tobogganing is not just for kids! Adults also have lots of fun racing down the slopes on a toboggan or sleigh. Where to find the nicest slopes and how to get there, you can find all of that information here.
How to get there by bus, tram or train
Osterzgebirge
The Osterzgebirge are particularly popular both with skiers and tobogganers. The landscape is beautiful and the possibilities here are endless. From tobogganing to skiing to skidooing, all winter sports activities are carried out here. It is easy to rent toboggans in most places. A note for all tobogganers: the slopes are pretty full on weekends.
WintersportExpress
In the winter season there are extra trains and buses that take skiers from Dresden to the Osterzgebirge. The RE 19 takes skiers and tobogganers from Dresden to Altenberg. The WintersportExpress bus of the RVD goes from the main train station in Dresden to Rehefeld und Holzhau.
Saxon Switzerland
In Saxon Switzerland, the towns of Sebnitz and Rugiswalde (between Neustadt and Sebnitz) are especially well set up for winter sports. Larger and smaller tobogganing slopes can also be found away from the prepared routes so that you do not have to watch out so much for skiers.
More tobogganing slopes
If you want to get out on a sleigh or toboggan, there should be no problem finding a suitable hill close by. Good slopes can be found in Kauscha, Radeberg, Dresden-Weißig or Dresden-Gorbitz, to name just a few.
