WintersportExpress
In the winter season there are extra trains and buses that take skiers from Dresden to the Osterzgebirge. The RE 19 takes skiers and tobogganers from Dresden to Altenberg. The WintersportExpress bus of the RVD goes from the main train station in Dresden to Rehefeld und Holzhau.
Due to the huge demand in the winter months, special train and bus services support the regular commuting services in order to ensure problem-free transportation to the winter sports areas. The additional buses and trains run on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays.
Information on timetables for the special services as well as valuable tips for skiers and tobogganers have been putt together in a little booklet. The booklet, entitled “Winterspaß im Osterzgebirge” is available in the VVO service centres and in the service centres of our partner companies. It can also be ordered online.
In addition to the special trains, there is also the regular bus and train service between Dresden and Altenberg and between Dresden and Zinnwald.
