Skating
This healthy leisure time activity has been driving young and old out into the fresh air for several years now. If you do not know where and with whom you should be skating, here you will be able to get a lot of ideas, tips and information.
For the people of Dresden the question “Where” is not a problem. Scores of skaters roll through the “Großer Garten” or along the Elbe every evening. Those who want to try out a longer route can join the night skaters. Further possibilities for inline skaters are listed in the internet portal “SkateGuide”:
Skateboarders can try out the half-pipe in Lingnerallee. And in case of bad weather there is also the Skate Hall.
Night skating in Dresden
Night skating takes place on Dresden’s streets every Friday, from April until October. During this time one of four possible routes is closed for motor vehicles. The routes either go along the banks of the river, through the “Großer Garten” or through downtown. Everyone who wants to can join in. Meeting point is the half pipe in Lingner-Allee and starting time is 7 pm.
Night skating is supported by VVO.
Skating park Riesa
Saxony’s largest skating park is located on the parking lot of the Riesa Park in Riesa. This is a haven, not only for skateboarders, but also for inline skaters, snake boarders and BMX riders. The admittance fee is 2 euros and the park is open 24h.
Skate-Halle Dresden
Skateboarders love the open-air half pipe on Lingnerallee. When the weather turns cold and wet however, it is better to switch over to the indoor version. The Skate-Halle can be found in the Dresden-Reick industrial area, at Lohrmannstraße 22. The admittance fee is 4 euros which entitles you to a whole day of skating enjoyment.
