Waterskiing
The Upper Elbe region has several waterskiing facilities and waterskiing lifts in operation. Wakeboards – to waterskiing what snowboards are to regular skiing – can also be found throughout the area.
There is a waterskiing facility in Dresden-Leuben. Here both highly proficient water-skiers as well as amateurs can practice on a cable system from April until October.
Waterskiing on the Elbe is only allowed in certain sections of the river. It is completely forbidden within the Dresden city limits. To find out which areas may be used, please get in touch with the Water and Shipping Department Dresden.
There are also further opportunities for waterskiing in the VVO region. To find out where, it is best to get in touch with the local tourist board. The necessary equipment can often be rented from a local sporting goods shop.
