Nordic walking
Nordic Walking has become one of the most popular leisure-time sports activities. Especially in the cities, it is evident that Nordic Walking has developed a mass appeal as you watch people strutting through the parks with their walking poles.
Beim Due to the fast pace and the support of two walking poles, nordic walking is an excellent way to train your stamina.
Numerous clubs and associations offer information and help as well as nordic walking courses where you can learn and practice nordic walking together with like-minded people under the guidance of an experienced trainer. In fact, in many locations you can now already find nordic walking parks with specially marked routes that have been graded to show you the varying degrees of difficulty.
Nordic walking courses and rentals
In the holiday regions of Saxon Switzerland, nordic walking fans will find just what they are looking for. There are also groups that meet on a regular basis along the River Elbe or in public parks that are open to all of those who are interested.
Many fitness centres have nordic walking courses on offer. Hotels, fitness centres and travel outfitters (e.g. Globetrotter) often rent out poles and other equipment. It is always worth asking.
Nordic walking associations
In Germany, the Nordic Walking Union and the Deutsche Nordic Walking Verband are the two major national nordic walking associations. In addition to courses for beginners, intermediate and advanced walkers, these associations also offer training education courses for instructors.
