If you would like to combine a stroll through the city with a trip to the great outdoors, we would recommend visiting one of the parks in or near the city. You will find that there is a lot to discover, whether you are alone or with your entire family!

With the wide range of choices on offer, there is something here for everyone. For example, historic parks combined with interesting architecture can be found in the “Großer Garten” in Dresden, on the palace gardens in Pillnitz, on the grounds of Schloss Moritzburg, in the Fürst Pückler Park in Bad Muskau and in the Baroque Garden of Großsedlitz.
For a shorter stroll we would recommend the Rose Garden on the banks of the River Elbe in Neustadt, Dresden or the Rhododendron Park.
If you are travelling with children, you can go and visit a zoo or a wildlife park. The labyrinth and the dinosaur park in Kleinwelka and the dinosaur garden in Großwelka or the prehistoric park in Sebnitz offer excitement and entertainment for the whole family.

Finally, several cities have botanical gardens that invite you in to see the wonders of nature. You will find them in Dresden, at Schloss Zuschendorf, in Schellerhau or at the Botanical Forest Garden in Tharandt.
