Combining different types of tickets
Here you can find out about combining your monthly or yearly pass with single tickets, sections of the 4-trip ticket, one-day tickets, weekly tickets, monthly and 9-o’clock monthly travel passes as well as the combination of 4-trip tickets for the fare stages with a 4-trip ticket for short trips.

Only the following combinations of tickets are possible.
When travelling in the area covered by the VVO, you can combine travel passes with single tickets and one-day tickets as well as 4-trip tickets for various fare stages and for short trips. If, for example, you own a travel pass for the Dresden tariff zone and you would like to travel to Moritzburg, then all you need to do is buy a single ticket for fare stage 1 for that part of your journey outside of the Dresden tariff zone. The validity of the ticket is automatically extended by one hour if the ticket has been validated in the tariff zone of your travel pass.
Travel pass + single ticket, one section of the 4-trip ticket for fare stages
Condition: You are travelling to a location that is outside of your travel pass’s tariff zone.
Travel pass + section of the 4-trip ticket for short trips
Conditions: You are travelling to a location in a tariff zone that neighbours the zone for which your travel pass has been issued and that location is no more than 2 km away from the last stop within your travel pass's tariff zone and can be reached without changing trains or buses.
Travel pass + one-day ticket
The one-day and one-day family tickets can also be used as connecting tickets that carry you on from the border of the zone for which your travel pass is valid.
Travel pass + one-week tickets, monthly travel passes and 9-o’clock monthly travel passes
You may also combine your travel pass (a one-week ticket, monthly or yearly pass) with other one-week tickets, monthly or yearly passes and 9-o’clock monthly or yearly passes in order to travel in tariff zones in which your original pass is not valid.
4-trip tickets + 4-trip tickets for short trips
Conditions: A combination of these two tickets is only possible if your destination in the second tariff zone can be reached with a short trip ticket (i.e. it is no more than 2 km away from the tariff border and you do not have to change trains or buses) or if you can start your journey with a short trip in order to reach the first stop within the next tariff zone in order to continue your journey there with a regular 4-trip ticket.
