Journeys by trilex

Since the timetable changed on 14th December 2014, trains operated by another railway company called "trilex" have been running from Dresden to Görlitz and from Dresden to Zittau or Liberec. Behind "trilex" is the Vogtlandbahn GmbH company, who won the tender for transport on these routes.

The trains that now run are green, white and orange instead of the familiar red.

Tariff & tickets on the trilex

Where valid, VVO tickets are accepted on trilex trains on the section within the VVO area (Dresden – Arnsdorf). ZVON tickets are accepted in the ZVON area. The VVO – ZVON upgrade tariff is accepted in both areas. 

Katzensprung ticket and day ticket

Another trilex ticket is available: The Katzensprung ("stone's throw") ticket.

The Katzensprung ticket is valid on trilex trains belonging to Vogtlandbahn GmbH and on trains belonging to DB Regio AG, Ostdeutsche Eisenbahn GmbH (ODEG) and Städtebahn Sachsen GmbH (SBS) on the following routes:

  • Katzensprung ticket: Dresden Hbf– Bischofswerda, 10 euros 
  • Katzensprung ticket: Dresden Hbf – Bischofswerda – Bautzen, 15 euros
  • Katzensprung ticket: Dresden Hbf – Bischofswerda – Wilthen, 15 euros

The trilex day ticket is valid for any number of journeys on trilex trains belonging to Vogtlandbahn GmbH and on trains belonging to DB Regio AG, Ostdeutsche Eisenbahn GmbH (ODEG) and Städtebahn Sachsen GmbH (SBS) on the following routes:

  • Dresden Hbf – Bischofswerda – Görlitz
  • Bischofswerda – Zittau – Liberec
  • Zittau – Varnsdorf – Seifhennersdorf / Rybniště

The trilex day ticket can be used by up to 5 passengers travelling together.
