Cost

The user pays for the SMS query, with the SMS charges depending on their mobile phone contract.

The user does not pay for the SMS replies sent by the VVO.

Lost track of the time while strolling with your new flame?

No worries! If you don't have the timetable in your head, you just need to send a short message to the VVO's SMS info number and it will be sent to your mobile. Quick and easy!

The service is good value too.

To be sent the mobile timetable information by SMS, you need to send a short message to one of the following service numbers (reply will take around 2 minutes):

The content of your short message must comply with the query formats below.

Query formats in Dresden (or Homezone)

NB:

Please do not enter the names of roads or cultural institutions. Only enter the names of stops.

StartStop#DestinationStop

Enter your starting and destination stops.

By default, the homezone is set to Dresden. However, you can use profiling to change this.

StartStop

If you only enter the name of one stop, you are sent the next departures of all the lines at that stop. This is the DVB's realtime data, i. e. the times when the vehicle is really coming! This service is currently only available for Dresden.

Possible abbreviations

  • bf: Bahnhof
  • hbf: Hauptbahnhof
  • bbf: Busbahnhof
  • dd: Dresden
  • mei: Meissen
  • pir: Pirna

StartLocation#StartStop#DestinationLocation#DestinationStop

Enter the location and stop for both the start and the destination. Information can be given for the entire VVO area.

Example: Riesa#Puschkinplatz#Dresden#Wilder Mann

Location#StartStop#DestinationStop

If the starting stop and destination stop are in the same town, you only need to enter the town once.

Example: Meißen#Hochuferstraße#Altleis

Query formats for a particular date or time

You can also, if you wish, attach a preferred departure or arrival time to each enquiry.

...#DepartureTime

To specify the departure time you would prefer, put a hash (#) in front of the time.

Example (depart after 5 p.m.): ...#17:00

You may also specify the departure time you want in terms of minutes. To do this, enter # followed by the number of minutes.

Example (depart in 10 minutes): ...#10

...#*ArrivalTime

To specify the arrival time you would prefer, put a hash followed by an asterisk (#*) in front of the time.

Example (arrive after 5 p.m.): ...#*17:00

You may also specify the arrival time you want in terms of minutes. To do this, enter #* followed by the number of minutes.

Example (arrive in 10 minutes): ...#*10

Personal SMS profile

As a registered user, you can save frequently used start and destination locations and frequently queried connection information in your personal profile so that it is convenient to use in our SMS information system. You can also subscribe to receive updates on timetable changes by SMS.
