Information for subscription customers and JobTicket users

Yes, the Deutschlandticket will also be offered as a JobTicket at uniform conditions throughout Germany.

If your employer subsidises the Deutschlandticket (at least 25 per cent on the issue price per month and ticket), then the transport companies in the VVO also grant a discount of 5 per cent.

This means that as an employee you save at least 30 per cent compared to the actual price of 49 euros.

Employers in the VVO have the following options for offering the JobTicket to their employees:

  • JobTicket as a Germany ticket
  • JobTicket as a monthly subscription ticket

The employer will inform you about the change or the further procedure in the company.

You are the employer ...

... and have questions about concluding a JobTicket contract for your employees? Then please contact Ms Stephanie Fischer (Tel.: 0351 8526569).

Can existing season tickets still be used?

Yes. The current (subscription) monthly or 9 o'clock (subscription) monthly tickets will continue to be offered.

Other

Comparison of Abo-Monatskarte vs. Deutschlandticket

Is the Deutschlandticket worth it for me or should I stick with my monthly travel pass?

For commuters who use more than one tariff zone in the VVO every day, the Deutschlandticket is usually worth it. If you have a monthly travel pass for one tariff zone, e.g. for the Dresden tariff zone, and take advantage of the benefits of monthly travel passes (e.g. taking bicycles/dogs or other people with you, as well as transferability), the monthly travel pass could remain the cheaper ticket for you.

In addition, one of the planned additional tickets (see point Validity) could be worthwhile for you.

The overview will help you compare the tickets:

Journey with bicycle or dog beyond the VVO

If you are travelling with your bicycle beyond the VVO, you will need a local transport day ticket for bicycles (Deutschlandtarif) at a price of € 6.00 (as of 13 December 2020) in addition to the Deutschlandticket.

If you travel with your dog beyond the VVO, larger dogs count as passengers and are charged like an adult person (booking under the term "dog" instead of a passenger. Small dogs (up to the size of a domestic cat) can travel free of charge in the transport container.

Will the existing range of tickets continue to exist, such as day tickets or the Bildungsticket?

Yes, all tickets such as single tickets, day tickets, weekly tickets and (subscription) monthly tickets according to the VVO tariff as well as the education ticket and trainee ticket will continue to be offered.

Can I make use of customer guarantees?

No, passengers with the Deutschlandticket cannot make use of the customer guarantees that exist in the VVO due to the high discount. Passengers with the Deutschlandticket are entitled to the applicable European passenger rights.

How long will the Germany ticket (Deutschlandticke) be available?

The policy aims to offer the Deutschlandticket on a permanent basis. The introduction period for the Deutschlandticket is set for two years. After that, a decision will be made on how to proceed.
